IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak says that the team "cannot wait" to get back to the Hitman series after the release of 007 First Light and its mysterious upcoming online RPG, Project Fantasy
Ever since 007 First Light was first shown off and looked incredibly likely to live up to expectations, it's seemed inevitable that developer IO Interactive was kickstarting a new series of James Bond games, something that the team is already up for if this first entry goes well. That's great and all, but it's left Hitman fans wondering whether we'd see Agent 47 again.
Add to that the fact that IO Interactive also has another brand new game in development, its online RPG called Project Fantasy that was confirmed some time ago, and it's started to look like Hitman was in for a long rest. That might still be the case with how long games take to make, but IO Interactive has at least confirmed that it plans to return to the series.
