Nintendo has announced that a Switch 2 remake of Star Fox 64 is in the works, and what's more, you're not going to have to wait very long at all to get your hands on it.
Simply titled Star Fox, the remake will launch exclusively for Switch 2 on June 25th (sorry, original Switch owners, but you're out of luck on this one). If you're nostalgic for the original Star Fox 64, you'll find level designs and story direction largely unchanged here, but there are some modern tweaks.
They include improved visuals, a new orchestrated score, and fully-voiced cutscenes, as well as Joy-Con 2 mouse controls if you'd rather have a little more control over what your ship is doing. Star Fox will also support Nintendo's GameChat feature, putting you "in the cockpit", apparently.
Nintendo is also promising that you'll get to see "never-before-seen mission briefings between stages", giving you the opportunity to learn more about Star Fox's universe. That's in addition to a new Battle Mode that adds multiplayer support, letting you take on your friends in "all-new 4v4 dogfights".
