A gameplay programmer on Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc has suddenly shared some previously unseen prototype gameplay footage that has it looking a lot closer to Rayman 2.
Although I think Rayman Origins is the absolute peak of the series, Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc will always hold a special place in my heart as the game that started my love for the series. That's a bit of a rogue choice considering how different it is from other Rayman games with its non-stop variety and smattering of strange, comedy-focused situations.
Ubisoft has shared a lot about the development history behind most games in the Rayman series, but Hoodlum Havoc is one that's rarely talked about all that much. In fact, I wasn't aware of quite how different Rayman 3 was going to be at one point, something that some never-before-seen gameplay clips from one of the game's programmers have made much clearer.
