Stranger Than Heaven Features An Actor Who's Been Dead Since 2014

Yakuza developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios is pretty consistent with many things, but the thing that the studio has done more consistently than anything recently is that it's ensured that their games have some kind of high-profile celebrity in them. Recent examples include Samoa Joe in Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, and Danny Trejo in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

Stranger Than Heaven is no exception, with legendary rapper Snoop Dogg and Japanese singer Ado both lending their voices to characters in the game. However, in the past, Ryu Ga Gotoku has always ensured that the celebrities it uses for its games were alive at the time of development, but that is changing for Stranger Than Heaven.

First revealed in the game's recent story and cast reveal trailer, which was shown off at the Xbox showcase last night, it has been announced that actor Bunta Sugawara will play a character in the game, and will also share his likeness. Suguwara was absolutely prolific in Japan, starring in over 200 movies and becoming a true Yakuza icon in the process.
