Slay The Spire 2 Update Removes Doormaker, And Some Players Aren't Happy

Slay the Spire 2 has had a few bumps on the road to the game's full release, which have resulted in the occasional review bombing. Every single time there's a balance patch that some players don't like, a review bombing will commence, and even things as banal as having Anita Sarkeesian on board for consultancy work has resulted in a tanking of the game's Steam reviews.

However, there is one thing that has caused more than one review bombing in the past, and that's the controversial boss fight against Doormaker. One review bombing came when multiple changes were made to the fight, which added a new mechanic that saw him switch between three phases that had varying effects on the player. The second was when those changes came to the game's main branch.

It's safe to say that Doormaker has been giving developer MegaCrit a few headaches, and has now decided to completely remove the boss in the game's latest patch, replacing it with a new boss called Aeonglass.
