After being described as a Hitman, Uncharted, and Batman: Arkham cocktail, 007 First Light is now one of the most highly anticipated games of 2026 and even a possible Game of the Year contender—eat your heart out, Grand Theft Auto 6. It seems as if 007 First Light’s dynamic gameplay has impressed many gamers, and its release later this month is a huge boon for players who are impatiently waiting to see how IO Interactive’s improvisational stealth roots will translate to an action-packed espionage thriller.

Between inventive gadgetry, ingenious deception, stylish melee combat, and set-piece shootouts (once James Bond is shot at and granted a license to kill, that is), it appears as if 007 First Light will be incredibly fulfilling. However, as a narrative-driven action-adventure game, the likelihood that a 007 game was going to take upwards of 50 or 100 hours to beat was always extremely low, and some fans are disappointed by the number of hours that 007 First Light’s story can reportedly be beaten in.
