It's been a while since we've last had a major update for Gears of War: E-Day, the first new mainline Gears of War title since Gears 5 in 2019. Outside a reveal trailer, and a few hints here and there, it's largely been quiet.
That should change in June, as Xbox is slated to have a dedicated Gears of War: E-Day Direct following its larger Xbox Games Showcase at Summer Game Fest. However, prior to that, it appears we have a better idea of when E-Day will launch, and it looks like it'll be September.
Last night, during WWE's Backlash Premium Live Event (PLE), the company announced a new PLE for its AAA lucha libre sub-promotion that will take place on September 11 and 13. The presenting sponsor? None other than Gears of War: E-Day.
That should mean that E-Day will release around that timeline, potentially around the week of September 7.
The future of Xbox is unclear, but the console brand is determined to make a comeback.
WWE is no stranger to having video games as presenting sponsors, as the opening match of Backlash was presented by Invincible VS. That game was released...
