The road to release for Subnautica 2 has been anything but easy, as the developers and publisher have feuded, at times publicly, about the project. That hasn't deadened any of player's ardor for the upcoming early access release of the sequel of the hit survival game. Indeed, today Unknown Worlds announced a new Subnautica 2 milestone had been reached: 5 million wishlists.
Set to come out later this week on May 14th, Subnautica 2 features a return to underwater survival, this time adding co-operative play to the formula that so many enjoyed in the first Subnautica. With over 5 million wishlists (more than the number of people who live in Panama), they've decided to give a gift to the community when they check in on the 14th. Instead of being an early purchaser bonus, everyone who buys Subnautica 2 will now get a Reaper Statue base decoration blueprint to make their home a little creepier, as a memory of the first game.
