Even WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes Isn't Immune To Nintendo's Legal Team

Nintendo is known for having a pretty staunch legal team that will come down on just about anyone using its IP without permission. That even applies to Cody Rhodes, who, after incorporating the Triforce into his ring gear for years, recently explained why he is no longer able to do that.

Speaking with fellow WWE Superstar Kit Wilson on his podcast, What Do You Wanna Talk About (thanks, VGC), Rhodes explained why he used to have the Triforce on his boots. Aside from his love of the Zelda series, he noted that what the symbol stands for - power, courage, and wisdom - was something he wanted to apply to his own life and career.

He even has the symbol tattooed on his ring finger.

However, Rhodes had to switch up his boots and wear ones without any imagery from The Legend of Zelda after being asked to stop by Nintendo. "I also got a cease and desist from Nintendo... It was very kind, they weren’t... it was polite, they weren’t coming after anybody, I’m not the first guy to have the Triforce," Rhodes revealed to Wilson.

The amiibo will launch in September for $34.99.
