Last week, after years of waiting, Nintendo finally announced a new Star Fox game. Granted, it's a remake of the Star Fox game we've played a bunch of times before, but it's looking great... for the most part.
Fox McCloud and the gang have a new look for this Star Fox remake, and it's split fans. This blend of cartoony proportions with realistic animal traits can be a little off-putting to some, and left fans wishing the movie designs were used instead. But these designs do have one fan: Takaya Imamura, the artist who originally brought the Star Fox cast to life in the 1990s.
As spotted by GoNintendo, Imamura made these comments as a follow-up to his initial reaction to the new looks for the characters. He was a little less enthusiastic at first, but now, having sat with them for a bit, he's full of praise.
"The new work is exactly the visuals I had in my head back when I was making Star Fox 64!" Imamura writes (machine translated from Japanese). "I absolutely love the super realistic character expressions too. That said, the movie version of Fox is just too cute."
So, he definitely...
