If you're looking forward to Gang of Dragon, the next game from Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi, then chances are you're close to the bottom of a bottle of whiskey and thoroughly lost in the doom and gloom of the whole saga. If you are, I sympathize with you greatly, because I am also right there with you.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Nagoshi Studios lost its funding from Tencent, after founder Toshihiro Nagoshi admitted that he'd need about $44.4 million to actually finish development. While not confirmed, if Tencent pulled out, then it's pretty obvious that Nagoshi did not get that funding that he wanted, and I struggle to think of a publisher that would give it to him.

Toshihiro Nagoshi once brought the Yakuza series to life, and now his new project is in jeopardy.

That leaves Gang of Dragon in a pretty awkward situation, as Nagoshi Studios seemingly doesn't have the money to finish it. It's felt like a game that's on the brink of being canceled for quite some time, and the pure radio silence surrounding it hasn't helped.
