People looking forward to Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls were left a little worried this morning when it was heavily implied that its story mode won't feature any gameplay. Turns out that was a misunderstanding, and the ten-hour comic will, in fact, require you to participate in battles throughout.
In an interview with 4Gamer, Marvel Tokon producer Takeshi Yamanaka provided details about the upcoming fighter's story mode. The interview initially detailed a ten-hour campaign in which the player doesn't need to do anything at all. It's just an animated comic book that they can rewind, fast forward, or pause if they like, but other than that, it just plays out.
It seems there was a misunderstanding somewhere along the way as the interview has quickly been altered to address that reveal, noting that, thankfully, Marvel Tokon's story mode will require input from the player. A lot of it, in fact, as it sounds like after the story progresses via a fully voiced comic that's been animated with the help of five different teams, you will be thrown into various battles.
