Yesterday, the next two heroes coming to Marvel Rivals were revealed. A trailer for Season 8 confirmed that Cyclops and Devil Dinosaur are joining the roster, and while the former was expected, the latter is proving controversial.
This is because Devil Dinosaur is best known for the series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. As the name suggests, he's part of a duo here with Moon Girl, AKA Lunella Lafayette. You can see Moon Girl in the reveal trailer, getting saved by Cyclops, but it's now clear that she will not actually be playable in-game.
NetEase has not commented on the reason for Moon Girl sitting out the fight, but Miller Ross, a reliable source of Marvel Rivals info, has. Ross says that Marvel Rivals cannot have child combatants because it would go against multiple age rating boards - which presumably means the age rating would go up in some regions.
Ross also says that ageing up Lunella would "basically mean making an entirely new character", but it seems fans would rather NetEase had gone down that path instead of excluding Lunella entirely.
