You Can't Be Killed By Fall Damage In Fortnite Anymore

Many of you reading this will have experienced the moment in a new game where you test whether it has fall damage or not. In Fortnite, the answer to that question is yes. That's why what might feel like a minor change quietly made via today's update is actually a significant one.

Fall from high enough in Fortnite, and you'll be eliminated, even if you have full health and shield. Falling from a great height doesn't always guarantee you'll be eliminated. It depends on the height from which you fall, the surface you hit, and how much HP you have left. However, following the rollout of today's update, that is no longer the case.

Fortnite's new AI brainrot skins are going down very badly with players.

As first revealed by Fortnite leaker Hypex, what would have previously been a lethal fall that sent you back to the lobby will no longer eliminate you from competition in both regular and zero-build BR modes, provided you aren't playing in ranked. Instead of hitting the ground and disappearing, there will be a splat animation.

That animation will be accompanied by your shields delpeting and your HP dropping to one instead of zero....
