Losing Spiders was a huge blow to the double-A gaming space. Through games like GreedFall and Steelrising, the studio carved out its own niche, amassing an impressive following - enough so that there was an audience for another GreedFall game.
However, just weeks after the launch of GreedFall: The Dying World, the studio was closed after publisher Nacon failed to sell it off. Since then, the devs have spoken out against Nacon, essentially accusing the publisher of sabotaging their chances of success and making the studio closure inevitable. They've even called on fans to boycott their games, since they are no longer making any money from sales.
With the game now in the publisher's hands, Nacon has made GreedFall: The Dying World free-to-play for a few days. Starting yesterday and running through until Sunday, you can start playing the game free of charge, but you will have to buy it after that time runs out.
In addition to this, there's a 30 percent discount for most of the month, so it's clear that Nacon is trying to make some money from this ill-fated RPG. But the developers who made it will seemingly not see any of that...
