Peni Parker's age varies throughout Marvel media. She's depicted as being anywhere between 14 and 18 years old. Given that many Marvel games and products depict combat, fighting, and battles, it presents a bit of a sticky situation for creators using her in their creations.
It's a situation that Marvel Rivals devs NetEase found themselves in, with Parker being a key character in the arena shooter, and it's one that Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls devs have also had to contend with. In a new interview, they've explained that it was a bit of a hurdle for them, and it's why they had to age her up.
"Peni Parker is a character with a wide range of appearances in the comics and the movie [Spider-Man: Into The] Spider-Verse, so we had a lot of freedom in terms of design," Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls' director Kazutoshi Sekine told 4Gamer in an interview translated by us here at TheGamer.
