That's because SkyExplosionist over on Nexus Mods has made Baldur's Gate 3 compatible with a set of "smart dice" that pair with your computer. With these dice in hand and the mod installed, all of your physical dice rolls are read on your PC and instantly reflected in-game, matching your roll in real life.
