Iron Man's Suit In Marvel Tokon Is A Nod To The Original Gundam

One thing that immediately stands out about Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, compared to, say, Marvel vs. Capcom or any other Marvel licensed video game, is the Japanese influence that's woven through the designs and mannerisms of the heroes and villains.

Except for Doctor Doom, who, no matter what video game he's in, is committed to being as extra as possible.

If all that wasn't abundantly clear from the various trailers, Iron Man's suit is a direct nod to Mobile Suit Gundam, specifically the RX-78-2 Gundam, AKA the "Granddaddy" Gundam, or the very first design.

As shared on the official Tokon: Fighting Souls social media page, Iron Man "upgrades his suit with Japanese-engineered technology: the Iron Man Armor Mk.782 Sho-Gun."

Space out the 782, and you get 78-2, the name of the original Gundam.
