Gang Of Dragon Developer Seemingly Marked As Permanently Closed By Google

Ever since it was revealed at The Game Awards last year, nothing but mystery and misery has surrounded Gang of Dragon, the debut game from Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi's new studio. It was going well, until a report came out that claimed publisher NetEase had pulled funding after Nagoshi asked for an extra $45 million to finish development.

Since then, it's been nothing but radio silence and worries about an imminent Nagoshi Studios closure announcement. First, the studio deleted its YouTube channel before quickly putting it back up, and then the studio's website up and vanished too. That one is still yet to be put back up and still can't be accessed.

Those two events are bad enough, as they paint a picture of a studio in turmoil at the very least, but things have now gotten worse. It was discovered a couple of days ago by a Reddit user called Rafilus that Google now seemingly lists Nagoshi Studios as "permanently closed" after a search, posting an image as proof, suggesting the studio has been quietly shut down.

Toshihiro Nagoshi once brought the Yakuza series to life, and now his new project is in jeopardy.
