This time of year is always interesting, because many company's are reporting their results for the 'fiscal year' previously - often running March to March. Ubisoft is no exception, and with the company in upheaval and making many changes, like cancelling 6 projects earlier this year, with the only known one being the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake.
With that going on, and all the studio musical chairs, examining their planned outlook and what they are saying to reassure investors can help us understand what the company is hoping to do... and what they aren't counting on so much. Two IP stood out as not being mentioned in their report or conference call, despite having been in the works for a while and not having been announced as cancelled at this time. Beyond Good and Evil 2 has had a troubled development, but if released would presumably be expected to be a major release for Ubisoft as they reinvigorate an IP, and make some money on decades of development work.
The other title has been in the weeds for less time, but the Splinter Cell Remake was announced in 2021, and the studio faced layoffs earlier this year....
