It seems the time has officially come for us to simply walk into Mordor once again! Warhorse Studios, the minds behind the Kingdom Come: Deliverance series, has finally put an end to the rumor mill by confirming they are working on an open-world RPG set in Middle-earth, meaning that The Lord of the Rings is returning to the gaming world.
Not only that, but the Czech developer dropped a double whammy by revealing that this isn't their only active project: a brand-new adventure within the Kingdom Come universe is also actively in development.
Juggling Bohemia and Middle-earth At The Same Time
According to the studio’s official social media channels, both titles are being developed concurrently. “You might have heard the rumours, it's time to reveal what we are working on,” the statement reads. “An open world Middle-earth RPG [and] a new Kingdom Come adventure. We’re excited to tell you more when the time is right.”
While the post was brief, the accompanying teaser image featuring both logos (you can check them out right above) hid a few fascinating details in plain sight.
