The Last Time PlayStation Screened A State Of Play In Theaters Was 2018, And It Was Stacked

PlayStation has confirmed it will be holding its next State of Play on June 2, 2026. That's a lot of notice for an event that's typically announced the day before it happens, 48 hours at best. Combine that with PlayStation inviting people to theaters to come and watch it as it happens, and there's reason to believe that this upcoming State of Play is going to be a big one.

This isn't the first time PlayStation has screened a State of Play in cinemas, but it's the first time it has done it for a very long time. So long that the last time it did something like this, the presentation was part of an E3. E3 2018, to be exact, and when you get a look at the line-up for that presentation, you'll understand why PlayStation thought it worthy of a theatrical experience.

The announcement was reportedly made by Herman Hulst in a town hall.
