Ed Boon Is Once Again Teasing A Return To Shaolin Monks

It's a day ending in "Y," which means Mortal Kombat fans are once again wondering when the day will come that they can play Shaolin Monks on modern hardware, either via a Remaster, a Remake, or even as simple as a port. However, that day has not yet come, and the title was absent from last year's Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection.

It doesn't help, then, that series director Ed Boon is once again teasing a return to Shaolin Monks.

Taking to Twitter, one half of Noob Saibot asked fans whether they'd like to see Shaolin Monks or Mortal Kombat 9 (2011) remastered first.

So far, 21,355 votes have been cast with 1 day and 16 hours left on the poll. Perhaps most surprising is the fact that the vote total is a lot closer than one would expect, as Shaolin Monks just barely has an edge over MK9, 51 to 49 percent.

Cole Young gets sidelined in Mortal Kombat 2, despite leading the first film.

Of course, that could change in the coming hours, but given how well-received Mortal Kombat 9 is, and how it practically saved the franchise, I'd be hard-pressed to believe it'd lose in a landslide....
