Gilgamesh is Coming to Honkai: Star Rail, and He's Absolutely Chopped | TechRaptor

The latest update for Honkai: Star Rail, Patch 4.3, was just announced, and along with this patch comes the highly sought Mortenax Blade. While this is exciting for fans of the game, one topic has dominated the conversation: Gilgamesh.

Along with news on 4.3, Hoyoverse revealed two new characters for the Fate/Stay Night collaboration with Honkai: Star Rail. Originally, we had Saber and Archer, and joining them in Summer 2026 are Rin Tohsaka and Gilgamesh, both fan favorites.

So why, then, is Gilgamesh getting roasted so bad?

Gilgamesh is one of Fate/Stay Night's most iconic characters, but let's be honest, part of his appeal is his alluring looks. His majestic golden armor, slicked blonde hair, and concerningly dominant attitude capture the hearts and minds of viewers. 

So what's up with that outfit, then? 

It's designed by Type-Moon's very own Takeuchi, but it is, by all accounts, a fashion disaster. His chest is exposed but has long sleeves. The pants have these weird poofs at the end, and his shoes are armored and pointed. Eagle-eyed users on Twitter note this as a mishmash of Gilgamesh's various outfits all combined into one.
