Marathon Is Being Labelled The "Destiny Killer" Following Destiny 2's Final Update Announcement

Earlier this week, Bungie dropped the massive bombshell that Destiny 2 would be getting its final update next month, and that no new content will be added to the game for the foreseeable future. It brings to an end one of the longest-running live service games out there, and a passionate fanbase left angry and with nowhere to go.

Naturally, a lot of that anger has now been directed at Marathon, Bungie's other live service shooter that is still very much alive, despite reports that it hasn't been doing great as of late. If you check the game's most recent Steam reviews (thanks GamesRadar), you'll see a pretty drastic spike in negative ones, and most of them talk about nothing other than Destiny.

At the time of writing, Marathon is currently sitting on a total of 153 negative reviews at the time of writing, most of which have some kind of comment like "I think I miss Destiny" and "Trash devs turned on Destiny 2 to make this dog p*** game." I think it's safe to say that most of the reviews are acting in bad faith, and don't actually represent the quality of the game itself.
