A Marvel Rivals developer has confirmed that Venom's unique Cyan Clash skin is a reference to his design in Marvel vs. Capcom 2, although the Rivals itself doesn't actually admit that.
Yesterday marked the start of Marvel Rivals' closed beta, which opened the game up to loads of new players across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Beyond that, the closed beta also introduced an exclusive new costume for one of the game's newest characters - Venom, who was only revealed a few months ago during PlayStation's State of Play.

The exclusive costume for Venom is called Cyan Clash and it paints everyone's favourite symbiote galoot in a strikingly blue colour. If you're a fan of Marvel video games, then the inspiration for the costume is very clear, but it's just been outright confirmed by one of the game's developers during a recent livestream.
Just a few days ago, Marvel Rivals' developers hosted a livestream to show off everything that's included in the closed beta. That, of course, includes Venom, who is making his playable debut for the first time after his reveal a few months ago....
