Back in 2019, DC Comics ran an event called DCeased set in an alternate reality where many of the company's most popular superheroes were turned into zombies. This event wasn't all too dissimilar to the popular Marvel Zombies books, which also featured a few surviving heroes making a last stand against zombified versions of popular characters. Now, fans of the DC event will be able to recreate it themselves with the help of an upcoming board game.
The popular game system Zombicide launched a Kickstarter for a DCeased version in 2023 and recently finished production on the core game box. For the uninitiated, Zombicide is a cooperative PVE experience that tasks players with completing different missions while being attacked by NPC zombies whose behavior is dictated by the game's rules. Player characters and enemies are represented by miniatures like in Warhammer 40K. The initial version of Zombicide came out all the way back in 2012, and has since spawned over a hundred new products, including tie-ins for other DC Comics events like Dark Nights Metal.
