Paralives, the new Steam game competing against EA's massive The Sims 4, is seeing major success on the platform already. Though Paralives still has a lot of room left to grow, as the title is in early access, its success so far shows that fans of the life sim genre are excited for more.

The Sims competitor Paralives launched in Early Access on Steam for Mac and PCs on May 25, and the title immediately saw great success. The developers shared a message thanking their audience after Paralives sold 250,000 copies within the first eight hours of being available. These numbers are even more impressive when taking its Monday launch into consideration, as more gamers will likely pick up the game over the weekend when they have time to play. However, its playerbase so far is strong as well, with a peak of over 78,000 gamers checking out the title on its launch date, and nearly 50,000 actively playing the game at time of publication.
