Every now and again, a game seems to come along that really seems to universally capture the imagination of everyone that plays it. The Simpsons Hit & Run (and, to a lesser extent, Road Rage) is absolutely one of those games, and there's a big portion of the community that remains fascinated with what it had to offer back then.
The chaotic action release allows players to explore the iconic town of Springfield both on foot and in an increasingly ridiculous series of vehicles, in what is a great recreation of the overall vibe of the beloved TV show. That inimitable style also means that the game looks pretty good, even today, but there's always room for improvement, and that's where the work of one dedicated fan has really come home to roost.
Over on Reddit, one user shared a post detailing how they had been working on an RTX Remix mod for The Simpsons Hit & Run, featuring path-traced lighting and PBR textures, based on textures made in a different remastered mod by Muckluck. The game looks pretty great, and it's an update that makes it look a lot more contemporary than it did previously.
