The official final project of Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama has just been revealed, and it looks incredible. Legendary Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama tragically passed away in 2024, and while his absence could immediately be felt, even that wasn’t the end of his creative work. Toriyama was, of course, heavily involved with Dragon Ball Daima before his passing, and even the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Beerus had some input from Toriyama, so surprisingly, there’s still plenty to see from Toriyama.
More than just Dragon Ball, though, Akira Toriyama has also been posthumously involved with his other major claim to fame, the Dragon Quest franchise. The remake of the original trilogy, for example, featured new characters designed by Toriyama, and now, it’s been confirmed that Akira Toriyama did, in fact, design the characters for Dragon Quest XII: Beyond Dreams before he died. That could make Dragon Quest XII the last project to feature Toriyama as a creator, and with how great the game looks, that’s something well worth getting excited about.
