It was back in 2024 that fans were treated to Star Wars: The Acolyte, a television show set in the sci-fi universe of Star Wars, taking us further back into the past than ever before. Created by Leslye Headland and airing on Disney, the story of The Acolyte takes place during the end of the High Republic era and before the events of the Skywalker Saga.
It follows a Jedi investigation into a series of crimes and tells the story of a former Padawan who is reunited with her Jedi Master. However, the pair soon discovers that the threat is much larger than they originally thought, possibly altering the future of the universe as a whole.
Consisting of eight episodes, Star Wars: The Acolyte unfortunately became the victim of review bombing, because god forbid a Star Wars protagonist be anything other than white, and the show was canceled after its first season. However, it still boasted a dedicated fanbase who were left heartbroken with the news. Myself included.
