Releasing way back in 1997, the very first Fallout installment marked the beginning of a franchise that would take the video game industry by storm. Originally developed and published by Interplay Productions, the series was soon handed over to Bethesda when it acquired licensing rights from the original team back in 2004. However, it was in 2007 that Bethesda officially purchased the Fallout IP for a whopping $5.75 million.
Since then, and with Fallout 3 being the first title under the Bethesda banner, the post-apocalyptic franchise has been hit or miss, with titles such as Fallout: New Vegas being considered one of the best video games of all time, whilst the newer Fallout 4 left a lot to be desired for many fans.
Now, whilst we all wait for the launch of Fallout 5, which has not yet received a public announcement or news of full development, it seems as though yet another Fallout spin-off game is gaining traction.
First released back in 2015, Fallout Shelter is a free-to-play construction and management simulation game where players are tasked with creating the perfect vault under 2,000 feet of bedrock.
