Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to cause a massive splash in the gaming industry this holiday season, and it's hard to imagine any game going up against its release without getting heavily sidelined. GTA 5 has set record after record for ongoing revenue, and the hype for the next installment has been building for years.
That doesn't mean that nothing else will attempt to launch near the same time as GTA 6, but games targeting vastly different demographics, like family titles or oddball indie ventures, might have the best chances. One of the biggest exclusives planned for the season has now seemingly taken GTA 6 into account, announcing a delay that appears to be for scheduling reasons rather than the need for more development time.
Today, the official XBOX Twitter account announced that the upcoming Fable reboot will now be launching February 2027 instead of the planned autumn 2026 release window. Xbox cites the change as a way to "plan [its] game launches through the holidays," giving Fable "the dedicated moment it deserves."
