Fans should be warned that the riot shield is returning to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4; however, Infinity Ward has stated that there have been some changes to the controversial weapon. The recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 reveal event disclosed plenty of details about what's new with the next entry in the series, and it seems like big changes are coming.

Modern Warfare 4 was revealed on May 28, 2026, now returning to fan favorite characters Captain Price and Ghost as they barrel towards a showdown while the rest of the world is engaged in a global conflict sparked by North Korea's invasion of South Korea. At a glance, it seems like everything is set for this to be another globe-trotting, gritty Call of Duty campaign, with all the familiar fixings of the franchise that fans are used to. On the multiplayer side of things, Infinity Ward seems to be shaking up the formula a bit with reworked movement mechanics and some interesting updates to hip firing, along with changes to fan favorite (or fan despised) weapons.
