One of the most interesting things about the world featured in the Fallout franchise is how information about it has been revealed to us so far. With each new game or adaptation we learn a little more about what the nuclear apocalypse brought to the United States, either through exploring it ourselves or learning about it through in-game resources.

The depth and mystery of the whole thing is a huge part of the appeal, and as part of that, the setting for each game is a huge part of its identity. Iconic locations like New Vegas and the DC Wasteland shows that there is stark contrast, even just within mainland USA, but there's another city that remains an absolute enigma, and the answer to what happened there could be the key to whether or not we ever get to see it in a main series game.
