Former Vice President of the Destiny Universe Mark Noseworthy has recently taken to social media to praise CD Projekt Red's announcement of a new Witcher 3: Wild Hunt expansion over a decade after the game's original launch. Noseworthy calls the Witcher 3 announcement a "great idea on a couple of levels," before praising the studio's ability to breathe new life into the Witcher brand ahead of The Witcher 4's release in the coming years.

On May 27, CD Projekt Red officially announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Songs of the Past, a third expansion for the award-winning 2015 action-RPG that was first leaked last summer. This upcoming third Witcher 3 expansion is set to release in 2027 and will see players assume the role of Geralt of Rivia once more. There's currently no concrete information on what the expansion's story will encompass, but CD Projekt Red has teased that it'll go some way in bridging the gap between The Witcher 3 and The Witcher 4.
