Sly Cooper Fans Are Convinced A New Game Is In The Works

It's been 13 long years since we've had a Sly Cooper game on PlayStation. Sure, Sony brought over the original trilogy to modern hardware via the PlayStation Classics program, but Thieves in Time is the last "new" experience, and that was on the PlayStation 3 and — wait for it — the PlayStation Vita.

For its part, Sucker Punch has kept the spirit alive of the franchise by including references, costumes and other bits in its other titles, most recently Ghost of Yotei on PlayStation 5.

However, some fans are convinced that Sly Cooper is close to a return. The evidence they have is somewhat compelling, and given that Sony has a larger PlayStation State of Play set for tomorrow (Tuesday, June 2), it's worth diving into.

Earlier this year, Sanzaru Games, the team behind Thieves in Time, and a studio that once pitched a remake of the very first Jak & Daxter title, another fan-favorite PlayStation franchise that has yet to receive a new entry, was shuttered by Meta.

However, not even a few weeks later, ex-developers started their own studio, called Sneaky Devil Studios.
