A Pixel Art RPG Where Characters Fight On Your Taskbar Is One Of Steam's Most-Played Games Right Now

TBH: Task Bar Hero is an idle game where pixel art characters embark on an RPG at the bottom of your screen while you get on with whatever else it is you need to do. Since it's free and requires barely any input from you to function, it's proving to be a huge hit on Steam, attracting hundreds of thousands of players.

Developed and published by Nugem, Task Bar Hero is quite literally a whole, and surprisingly extensive, RPG that takes place almost entirely in your taskbar. Equip characters with items, skills, and loadouts, and then send them out on an adventure while you buy stuff on Amazon or get some work done.

Not that I would ever be watching these little pixel art heroes do their thing on my taskbar during work hours. No way. Couldn't be me.

The simplicity of TBH combined with the ability to leave it running when you're doing something else, and even away from your PC entirely, along with it being free-to-play, has led to it quickly becoming a hit on Steam. Even though it debuted to fewer than 10,000 players when it launched last week, that count has gone in the opposite direction...
