Move over Mickey Mouse, there's a new hot mouse in the world as Mina the Hollower sales have crossed 300k copies in under 3 days.
After clearing over 55k copies in its first morning on Steam, the little mouse that could has continued to sell with Yacht Club Games president Sean Velasco revealing the sales figures to Jason Schrier. The sales compare favorably to their great Shovel Knight, which took a week to sell 75k copies across Steam, 3DS, and Wii U in 2014, and sold over 2.75m by 2019. Velasco has said that he'd be disappointed if Mina the Hollower sales don't reach at least a million.
Mina the Hollower began as one of two projects after Yacht Club Games after Shovel Knight King of Cards, alongside a 3D Shovel Knight project that was eventually put on the backburner to focus on Mina. Mina The Hollower is a classic example of a game growing much bigger than expected in development, with the original side project taking 6 years to develop and an estimated budget of over $5 million.
Reception of Mina the Hollower has been nothing short of fantastic, and encouraging to Velasco...
