Until Dawn 2 Makes Up for Bland Title with Mysterious Setting

In 2015, Sony found a bit of a surprise hit on their hands when exclusive title Until Dawn from Supermassive Games dropped into the narrative, "choose your own adventure"-type horror genre and captivated a large number of players who were determined to try to figure out how to save (or kill off) every character in the game.

Since then, Until Dawn became enough of a success to spawn a feature-length film, and Supermassive Games went on to launch their Dark Pictures Anthology to somewhat mixed, but overall healthy enough reception between most of their titles. With how busy Supermassive has been post-Until Dawn, a sequel didn't really seem to be on the horizon for their original title.

Today, during the June 2, 2026, PlayStation State of Play, viewers were shocked then to see Until Dawn 2 pop onto their YouTube streams in the back half of the showcase. And no, it's not the most creative title for a sequel we've ever seen, but it does seem to be switching up quite a bit of details. Here's what we know so far, including the series now taking place in an entirely different biome this time around.
