Sony took an early move in the Summer Events festival with their PlayStation State of Play 2026 here in June and presented many interesting games players can expect to see over the next year on PlayStation 5.
The event's promised headliner Marvel's Wolverine showcases the deadly Canadian Logan in a world that mutants are in hiding from. Unknown to most, Mutants are the fringe of the fringe of society... and hunted by some of those who know they do exist such as billionaire Bolivar Trask who hired the cybernetic mercenaries Reavers to kidnap a bunch of mutants, and Logan is following them. We see Logan take on their forces in battle, as a member of Team X, a last stand mutant team that Logan has rejoined after previously leaving.
In the combat we see Logan's combat style is a brutal take on the rhythmic Arkham style that we saw with Marvel's Spiderman, with blood, short range attacks, and even longer range moves involving Logan using his abilities to get in close.
