One of the biggest announcements of tonight's State of Play was the reveal of the long-rumoured next God of War game which, as was previously leaked, stars Faye.
Even though it really hasn't been that long since the last God of War game, 2022's Ragnarok, that hasn't stopped the last few months feeling like a big resurgence for the series. Earlier this year, not only did we get a brand-new game in the form of Sons of Sparta, but it was also confirmed that the first three games in the series were getting a remake.
That was exciting enough, but it still left us all wondering what Cory Barlog, the director of 2018's God of War, and his team were cooking behind the scenes. For some time now, it's been rumoured that it's a new God of War starring Kratos' wife Faye, which finally got confirmed during tonight's State of Play.
Tonight's State of Play had plenty of big announcements, but the new God of War game was by far one of the biggest. I'd love to say that it was a surprise, but that's sadly not the case since it's been rumoured for some time...
