As if 2026 hasn't already been a big enough year for gaming thanks to all of the non-stop GTA 6 theorising, things are starting to heat up even more over the next week or so. Now that we've reached summer, the season of gaming showcases is finally upon us, with Summer Game Fest following PlayStation's packed State of Play.
Unlike previous Summer Game Fest showcases, we didn't know much of what to expect this year outside of a few confirmed games and some wild expectations thanks to Geoff Keighley calling it the "biggest" show yet. Even with that hype, it was still quite the surprise to see the announcement of a new Cuphead game.
