N Plus Infinity Times Two Is Giving The Series The Friendship-Ruining Multiplayer Game It Deserves

Metanet Software, the developers of the iconic N games, have announced N Plus Infinity Times Two, a new multiplayer-focused entry in the series that's set to release in 2027.

If, like me, you were lucky enough to grow up during the golden age of Xbox Live Arcade, then you're no doubt familiar with the N series, which started life as a Flash game but really made a name for itself with N+. After the 2008 masocore platformer became a XBLA classic, we ended up getting a sequel in 2015, N++, that shined the series' formula even further.

Now that it's been a whole decade since the last proper N game (which actually just got a tenth anniversary update not too long ago), everyone's been wondering what developer Metanet Software was going to do next. While it's unsurprisingly sticking with N, the next game in the series is going in a very different, but very exciting multiplayer direction.
