Resident Evil Leaker Claims Code Veronica Remake Will Be Third-Person

After the Resident Evil Veronica reveal at Summer Game Fest last night, fans worried the remake would adopt the strict first-person perspective of Resident Evil 7 and Village. However, reputable leaker Dusk Golem has since cleared the air, claiming the game will continue the third-person gameplay of previous remakes.

It's easy to see why fans jumped to conclusions, given the first-person snippet at the beginning of the trailer. However, that's hardly definitive proof — the Resident Evil 3 remake also opened in first person before transitioning to a third-person perspective for the rest of the game.

Some have suggested that Veronica might follow Requiem's suit with Claire's segments being third-person and Chris' segments being first-person, mirroring Grace and Leon, but Dusk Golem has only said that "Resident Evil Veronica is third-person," with no mention of a toggle. In actuality, it will likely follow Resident Evil 3's approach with Jill and Carlos.

Aside from the third-person, first-person perspective debate, fans also have concerns about the intro. The original Code Veronica opens with Claire Redfield rushing down a corridor, narrowly avoiding helicopter gunfire. She ends up facing a firing squad of soldiers, whom she dispatches...
