We may be about to get our first confirmation that Xbox really is backtracking on its decision to put its previously exclusive games on PS5 and Switch 2, as it's claimed a decision was "just made" not to put Gears of War: E-Day on PS5.
Speaking during the second day of GB at Nite, Giant Bomb's Jeff Grubb claimed not only that E-Day will no longer be coming to PS5, but implied it was a decision Xbox landed on very recently, just hours before its E-Day Direct later today. "I'll say it here. Gears of War: E-Day was going to be on PS5. It's not anymore. That just happened. That's a decision that just got made," Grubb revealed.
The Xbox Showcase takes place later today, the platform's biggest event of the year and the first one to air under new CEO, Asha Sharma. E-Day is expected to get a release date and have a big presence, as it has already been confirmed that there will be a deep dive into the new Gears of War game after the main Showcase ends.
