State of Decay 3 made a not-so-surprising appearance at tonight's Xbox Games Showcase with a packed gameplay trailer that revealed a planned release in 2027.
For some time, State of Decay 3 was one of the biggest examples of Xbox announcing a game far too early and then going completely radio silent on it. As it turns out, there was a good reason for that, as the CGI trailer that the game was revealed with was put together long before the game really entered development.
The very slow wait for news on State of Decay 3 thankfully changed a few months ago when Undead Labs announced that a closed alpha playtest was coming soon, suggesting that the team was finally ready to show more. That made it seem very likely to appear at tonight's Xbox Games Showcase, and that's exactly what happened.
The new gameplay trailer for State of Decay 3 appeared early on in the showcase, giving us our best look yet at its much more polished and action-focused gameplay. Unlike previous showings for State of Decay, it actually had some pretty big news to share, as it's planned to release at some point in 2027....
