Disguises Feel Useless In Crimson Desert

There are so many features and systems in Crimson Desert, that I wouldn't blame you for ignoring some of them or even forgetting they exist. In fact, that's exactly how I felt when I came back to the game after two weeks. The trading system, building, and banking are among the many features players have barely interacted with.

Among these many features is Crimson Desert's disguise system. As you'd expect, wearing certain pieces of gear allows Kliff to walk through enemy strongholds without getting attacked; or so you'd think. According to multiple players, the system is a bit confusing, resulting in enemies attacking Kliff despite him wearing a disguise.

The way the game's disguise system works isn't really explained well. There's a part in the story where you're given a disguise that supposedly allows you to walk through occupied Pailune. However, it seems I'm not the only one that put on the headdress and stepped out to have the entire settlement descend upon me.

Over on Reddit, players have multiple theories for how disguises work. You need to put on multiple pieces of the disguise, each of which improves your detection stats. At least that's what most players think.
