Spyro The Dragon Is Back, With Toys For Bob Making A New Game

Spyro the Dragon is back, finally. A new game was just confirmed at the Xbox Games Showcase, with a familiar name attached as the developer.

Spyro: A Realm Beyond is being developed by Toys for Bob, the same studio that brought us previous Spyro and Crash games as part of its 2010s revival. Spyro: A Realm Beyond will be with us in Spring 2027, a lot sooner than any of us expected to be playing a Spyro game.

This reveal gave us a brief look at some gameplay, and it's looking much more open than traditional Spyro games. It's too early to say whether or not this is a true open-world game, but that would be an incredibly bold move for the devs, considering how safe it would be to just give us more of what we loved in the original trilogy.

Toys for Bob's new game comes after its work on Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, and Crash Team Rumble.
