Xbox's Attempts To Explain Return To Exclusivity Lead To More Confusion

After putting its games on other consoles, Xbox has confirmed it will indeed be keeping some of its titles exclusive moving forward, starting with Gears of War: E-Day. Chief content officer Matt Booty has attempted to explain how Xbox will handle exclusivity moving forward, but if anything, he has just confused people even more.

The key point Booty wanted to drive home when speaking with Gamertag Radio was that just because there will once again be Xbox-published games that aren't released on any other consoles, that doesn't mean everything developed by its studios will no longer come to PS5 and Switch 2. Multiplayer and live service games will continue to be released on other platforms. Wise, as those are the games that rely on big player bases to survive.

It's the same reason why PlayStation will continue to release those same types of games on PC, even though it's largely leaving the platform behind.
